Almost Happy

1) Today, I feel a glimmer of hope in me.

2) Today, the hope of going back to 'civilisation' has increased slightly.

3) Today, the voice of the faced-off-wicked-witch-of-the-east confirmed my decision to go back to 'civilisation'.

4) Tonite, I will have dinner with my father 'cos I need to let him know about my hopes & dreams (ok-lah, no dreams actually..... and it's only ONE hope for now..... unless you count getting a Chanel bag as hope then yes, I have 2 hopes so therefore I can use "hopes & dreams" - the dream I'll just tell him bout what I dreamt last nite) **and also 'cos he will take me to go for shark's fin and those shark activists out there, don't bother to comment 'cos I'm currently still trying to cope with recycled paper & water. Thanks.

5) Tonite, I will get to stay up to watch more episodes of '24' (as I'm super lame & don't have a life but am very well-versed with dvd box sets) 'cos tomorrow is a public holiday for me - and yes, Jeek, I feel your pain so I've decided to go for yoga in the morning instead therefore I can't sleep in.. but I can sleep after right up until dinnertime... when you get off work that is. Kua kua kua =)

6) Tomorrow, Grace, Josie & I will find out if we're able to hold hands once again & go skipping.....

**That's Me, Josie & Grace in the cartoon...

Josie & Grace: You guys can go fight 'bout who's who in the cartoon 'cos it's pretty obvious the girl is me....

P/s: Wtf.... why-lah am I like this? Capital "L" can?

Mr. President

I started watching the 2nd season of '24' last night (which I borrowed off Grace so Ramesh, don't bother borrowing from me) and this man named 'Senator Palmer' that was running for president in the 1st season is now President in the 2nd season. The whole of the first episode kept having people running around calling this Palmer guy, "Mr. President", "Mr. President" and I would just like to know why do they have to call him that? I mean, sure.. he's president....the man that presides over the US but isn't it weird to suddenly call him 'Mr. President' when you were just shouting 'Senator Palmer' the day before?

So how come Pak Lah is not referred to as "Encik Perdana Menteri"? Why humble himself when he could just let the whole world know he's the prime minister? I mean, not like when he goes overseas the ang mohs would understand wtf is "Pak Lah" as opposed to "Encik Perdana Menteri" right? So why not just go all the way 'atas' since he's already there????

"Marian Curanter"

Conversation with FanOfWarrenBuffett at Alexis, Bangsar last night:

FanOfWarrenBuffett: Eh, look look at that girl (pointing at this girl diagonally from our table)... she looks like the chinese version of Marian Curanter.....

Me: Who?? (I asked him innocuously)

FanOfWarrenBuffett: Marian Cue..cue..cuuuuuraaaannter? There, the girl that hosted 8TV Quickie?? You know which one onot?

Me: Ya, her name's Marion Caunter.

FanOfWarrenBuffett: Not Marian Cuuuurannter meh? The one with Adam C wor...

*_*

**So the next time he sees Marion Caunter on the streets, he'd go up to her (with the intention to take a photo although his I'm-so-old-that-my-scroll-makes-an-annoying-sound blackberry doesn't have a camera):

FanOfWarrenBuffett: Are you Marian Curanter?

Marion Caunter: Err...nope

FanOfWarrenBuffett: Oh, sorry.

Marion Caunter: But I'm Marion Caunter though....

FanOfWarrenBuffett: That's fine. No worries.... (and carries on with his fun little trip to Borders/MPH/Kinokuniya to purchase more Warren Buffett books)

P/s: It's ok guys! At least we're all reassured that FanOfWarrenBuffett would be able to identify Warren Buffett in the streets of KL if we were to pass him by..... And if Marion Caunter were to feel like she's going nowhere in her current career as a VJ, she could always start her own show "Curanter the curator" *grin*

Pui Fong's sister's wedding dinner

Ok-lah, it was LAWRENCE & PUI LENG's wedding dinner! This was held last night at Tai Thong Restaurant, Cheras Plaza (just behind Leisure Mall). I got stuck in traffic for approximately 1 1/2 hours whereby half an hour was spent right in front of Leisure Mall because some people decided to celebrate 'TGIF' with the presence of a 'pasar malam' right next to the mall. So as you can imagine, cars moving in and out of Leisure Mall's car park, cars parked by the road, cars double parked, cars doing illegal turns, combined with the 'pasar malam'..... do not get me started about the level of wrath that was in me....*_*

We finally got there on time before they started the dinner (food was good btw) and since I'm worried about people realising the 'recycled' dress I was wearing for the dinner, I decided to post photos of last night here instead of FB/Friendster. Knock yourself out............

Bride & Groom walking in:

The Wizard of Oz

Today it suddenly dawned on me that perhaps the Wicked Witch of the East is alive! The falling house did not kill her, the Wicked Witch of the East proli just laid fake legs she bought 'cheap cheap' from SJMC (Subang Jaya Medical Centre) underneath the falling house and did a whole 'face off' attempt to portray herself as the 'little girl' to follow the yellow brick road in order to infiltrate her team (the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman & Cowardly Lion) of wizard fans.

It's probably the most logical explanation as to why the Wicked Witch of the West wanted the wizard-of-oz-fans-team dead! Like why would a witch care so much about a 'little girl' and her useless entourage unless she's somehow a threat, trying to conquer the land that belongs to the Wicked Witch of the West, am I right? I'm even more convinced that the 'little girl' recruited the Scarecrow so she would have extra hay in case she needed a spare broom for transport, the Tin Woodman in case she needed an armour ('cos you never know some Peter Petrelli might teleport to the 1900s with a gun) and the Cowardly Lion to scare off stray dogs along the yellow brick road?

I'm telling you, the 'little girl' and her wizard-of-oz-fans-team might have killed the Wicked Witch of the West and took over the witch's empire but she's still continuing to conquer other parts of the world. Word has it that in this era, the 'little girl/Wicked Witch of the East' is now in KL - 'faced off' as chinese, doing sales & drives a Camry . So beware.... we all need to form allies to correct this particular childhood pantomime of ours once and for all....

Baby Amanda

My brother's youngest daughter who is approximately 17 months old would never fail to exclaim "BABY!" everytime she hears cries of an infant. What amazes me is that Amanda is still referred to as 'Baby Amanda' in photos/emails/conversations and the cutest part is that Amanda can barely walk straight herself! So what differentiates herself from calling others a 'baby'? If somehow subconsciously she were to know/feel that she's currently in the same stage in life with other infants around, what gives her the right to point fingers at others and name them babies? Or were all babies taught to call other infants a 'baby' just because they were crying? Perhaps it's time we teach the younger generation to shout out words such as 'sista!' or 'brader!' or even 'kakilang!!!' each time they meet others who are of their equivalent age. It's time we be benevolent and prevent future babies from being insulted by other babies....

But since I'm 2 cycles older than Amanda, I can still scream "BABY!!!!!!" in her face! Muahahahaha *evil laugh*.

Here is a photo which I forced the BABY to show me her strip of enamel which my SIL calls 'teeth':

The BABY with her grandparents, sister (Therese) & brother (Zachary):

**I helped clip on the orchid (which we plucked off some plant in some 'cina' restaurant) on her head..

Eminem wannabe BABY:

Laughing-at-dunno-what BABY:

**Proli 'cos Thaipusam tomorrow so got public holiday (Thank you Pak Lah, with 5 more declared public holidays in a year, you'll reach 'Most Voted For' status - I should stop logging onto FB for a while....)

I might be an 'adopted' Taurus

*Gasp!* Couldn't believe it myself... I'm not usually into reading horoscopes online but since I'm currently stuck in this stodgy place on a SATURDAY, I decided to read up about it on FB. Turns out I don't have much Taurean traits and to think that I believed I was made/behaving/acting this way due to the star sign.

And this is what I found:

"Many Taureans work with their hands. Even if a Taurus is a computer expert and seems more cerebral than manual, nine times out of ten there is a hidden craft or hobby lurking behind the scenes. Taureans enjoy forging beautiful things from natural materials. In fact, they are attracted to all sorts of beauty. Music thrills them. Flowers enchant them. The countryside seduces them. And art is their natural habitat.

Taureans are forever building their own workshops and renovating barns and old churches. They are not only home-loving, they like to get their hands into the cement and slather on the plaster, if only for the tangible joy of playing in the mud.
"

It's ok, I'm rolling my eyes too! Can someone pls tell me which zodiac sign I belong to? Also, is there a 'jabatan' I can go to to apply for a change in zodiac sign??

PINK it's my new obsession....

Well, not quite. Was just singing Aerosmith's song *_* Ok-lah, just slap a 'LAME' sign on my forehead. I do agree for once *eyes rolling*

Pink has always been on my list of favourite colours.... And to add to my new 'obsession' of pink, I recently bought the pink LG Shine KE970
!!! *drum roll pls......*

TA-DA!!!!

**Photos not clear not my fault ok! Blame Ling Ling's oh-look-at-me-i-come-with-a-pouch Nokia phone ok!!!

Anyways, I fell in love with my phone the moment I saw the picture in this press release stating that it is now sold in major retailers..... so major retailers I went... from Sg. Wang to Low Yat to The Curve to Mid Valley hunting for it and even started ringing LG's retailers one-by-one but nope, couldn't find it. Some of the mobile phone sales staff even told me "Girl ah.. this model no pink colour one-lah". Yalor, I'm damn stupid-lor, go and believe a press release from LG!!! &%^!!

I only then realised that the press release was by LG SINGAPORE! At that point in time, I received news (and no, I did not read this off a press release) that Navina was there for a business trip. So HAD TO GET IT-LAH! Thank you Nav for hunting down the phone for me. Really do appreciate it heaps!!

Ok, so then a few weeks ago... Pui Fong bought a new phone, the Samsung SGH-U600... AND IN PINK TOO! Same shade of pink ya...

Super excited so we had to take pictures of our phones together:

This is the best picture we could get whereby both of our phones are displaying the same wallpaper. At first, I tried using Ling Ling's
oh-look-at-me-i-come-with-a-pouch Nokia phone but after ten thousand attempts, I finally gave up! It was heaps difficult to synchronise the lights... I left Ling Ling with less battery life and a few (ok, proli ten thousand of them) photos of 2 pink phones. No worries-lah... her photo album needed some cool photos anyways *_* Then, it was Kelly's turn to experience this as Pui Fong was adamant about taking that picture.

Once mission accomplished, Pui Fong continued transferring mp3s from Kelly's phone:

Oh oh!! Did I mention that Kelly's phone is pink too? But different shade so no photo here as "SORRY!!! MEMBERS ONLY!!!"... kua kua kua *

Specially for Shyuan

I would like to dedicate this post to NG RU SHYUAN as it is her birthday today...

Someone who is either daring or crazy enough to cut her own fringe with blunt scissors, someone who puts up with my sarcasm all the time, someone who is always excited to bring me to 'cute cute' shops (cos I seriously feel that's where we both belong!), someone that I formed the "Stoner's Club" with, someone that completes Steph & me:

When we were into 'lala' card photos at Sg. Wang:

Still 'lala' in Sydney:

Super fun trips to Melbourne:

Reunited when Clara & Ah Ru came back for a holiday:

Reunited again at Clara's wedding (but Clara's getting ready in the room so we'll just have to do with Steph for now):

Ah Ru, am looking forward to you coming back for good! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! xoxo

Delicious

I remember when I went to Delicious last Christmas, there were stickers on their glass doors stating something like "Have a Merrilicious Christmas!". What a cutesy idea it was. Simple, sweet and nice!

But when I went for dinner at Delicious tonight with FanOfWarrenBuffett.....

and happened to end up at their dessert menu (*background 'Ooooooh'*),

look what I found:

"Berrilicious Chocolate Pavlova & Chocolicious Sundae"

and.......................

"Applelicious Pie"!!!!!!!!

Wtf????!!!

Like how ori (stands for 'original' in case you're wondering) can one get? Why not name the tiramisu "Tiramisulicious" too since you're at it? I mean, why just stop at apple pie? We still have 'Nasi Kerabulicious" and "Spaghetti Bolognaicious" you know. Why just get 'creative' at the dessert? No more fancy cocktails/mocktails for us.... now we have "waterlicious"!!!

Ok, so crapilicious aside, I bumped into Angela at Delicious as well:

I look massive beside her!! She's freaking thin... plus she already has a kid. Can anyone believe this??? But since we're at Delicious, anything's possible-lah... maybe cos it was the "lampulicious" that made my angle look a bit bigger. Maybe we should start a poll for Aunty Ms. Read to gain 'creative' insights for year 2008. Who knows... she might start a new clothing line called "Ms. Understood". I probably should join her......

Silverfish

I am currently undergoing a huge crisis of having tiny holes in some of my blouses. I suspect that either the washing machine is wrecking them or my mom is telling me the truth for once that my wardrobe has silverfish!!! Put aside the bimbotic part of me, I still can't find the omniscient side to understand wtf is silverfish?!?!?! Why would silverfish want to harm such pretty clothes??? Or fabric in general?? Why can't they be normal fish, eat normal food and act all pretty & cute in hope that Disney would one day turn them into a movie?

The first blouse had a tiny hole near my neck and yes, I was sad about it because I bought that blouse all the way from Sydney and I've barely worn it. The 2nd blouse was from Topshop which had a tiny hole at the back near the waist. I handed it to my mom and said "please tell me that it still can be saved" and she kept saying "we have to do something bout those silverfish". A bit skeptical I was... the blouse was hanging outside of my cupboard and suddenly a hole just appeared? If it were to be a damn silverfish, why would a silverfish slowly crawl out into the open risking its life to take a nibble and then crawl back in when it could just have a feast INSIDE?!?!?! Is this their way of exclaiming "I live dangerously!"? So does this mean that we have Bon Jovi silverfish fans in our home now????!!

Anyways, my dad has now hung a few silverfish place paks in my cupboard and each time I open a door, I feel a whiff of strong, unpleasant mosquito repellent-like smell. GROSS! You mean it's either me smelling like Gucci Rush 2+repellent or looking like a gypsy with torn clothes in between? Therefore, I'm now writing this ominous post to you silverfish out there... leave us humans alone (excluding those gypsy try-hards but still cannot make it kind so yes, you may help them out still) and go be mean somewhere else... like feed off fur or something. Or if someone out there could just save the drama, sponsoring us a new washing machine would be excellent too!

Last nite...

If you think this is a post whereby I'm gonna copy & paste the lyrics to P. Diddy & Keyshia Cole's song... I would like to ask why do even people do that? Why do people surf for lyrics and then post them on their blogs/FB etc. with the little intro stating "Here is a song that I'm really into now" or "This is my favourite song and would like to share it". Share what? What do I get out of reading lyrics especially when I don't even know the tune? And what's with "This song has very meaningful lyrics"? Honestly lor, if I don't know the tune and read the lyrics, it's just words that rhyme. It's even more annoying when people write their own lyrics to the song... paste it on their blog/FB and then go like "sing it to the tune of Jenny from the Block :)". What's so annoying you might ask? They might be future David Newmans. So are the people who copy & paste lyrics of their favourite songs considered future Emily Dickinsons?

Well, this post is actually (notice how I keep using the word 'actually'? Malaysian ma) about what I did last nite... After dinner with Kelly, I didn't feel like going home. But if I don't, what can one possibly do? Perhaps take a drive around?

This is a picture of Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills...

This is what we have in KL (on-the-way-to-death trees because of the scorching sun):

Ok, so driving around might not sound that enticing... Still, I didn't feel like going home. I certainly do not have a 'Tinkerbell' (that is cageless, that can run freely in my house, that will take photos with me whenever I want) to go home to:

Instead, I have a 'Rockie' (who doesn't give an 'F' bout taking photos btw):

Shopping is certainly out of the question because my feet were hurting... not everyone can afford comfortable ones such as these:

......whereas mine are RM49 from Sg. Wang *_*

So at last, I turned to Kelly and said... "I dun feel like going home". And she's like "wanna go for a drink?"..... Yup, so I ended up doing the most common thing Malaysians do....

'Yam cha' but at Secret Recipe (cos I'm semi-atas now can?)........

MSN

Last Sunday I met up with Pui Fong for lunch. I don't know how this conversation came about but she said that she went to Cineleisure for a movie the night before. And I was like "Huh? Me too!!". So she was like "Are you serious? My movie was midnite worrr" - like wat? I dun have a life is it? Midnite too late for me to be out there to be seen is it? Not like literally seen-lah cos in the cinema ma, but still... - Anyways, me being excited exclaimed "Ya ya, me too!!!". And then I asked her "What movie you watch ah?"...She's like "NT2" - gimme a minute here... what's up with movie initials? The other day someone else mentioned AVP - ya go figure.. it's like the next thing you know, people would proli come up with initials for songs.. so like what? Am I suppose to go like "Eh, have you heard that song by Fallout Boy? You know.. the I-L-A-L-W-T-W-I-A-double T-G-Y-O-open bracket-M-A-Y-close bracket?" ** It's actually.. "I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)".

So anyways, I was like super excited.. cos I went for "NT2" too!! Then I asked her, "didn't you see me? I was taking photos outside of the cinema cos the wallpaper had an MSN window with my name on it!!". Apparently no, they were checking out Stephen Chow's poster/'monument' or whatever it was about Stephen Chow's new movie instead. "But damn big wor my name displayed there"... and she's like "Got meh?". Sigh, on my way to stardom but no one notices.

Therefore, I would like everyone to go check it out.... walk pass cinema 7... it'd look something like this:

Closer look:

Ya ya.. farnee har har... save all the sarcasm. I know it's tiny but try to focus at where my finger is pointing at can? I'm a semi-atas person now ok?

P/s: For autograph sessions, kindly proceed to foyer after photography sessions. Thanks.

Hello Kitty Mints

I've been a big fan of the Hello Kitty mints when I first discovered them in Hong Kong (actually... like actually... u know how Malaysians like to use the word 'actually'?.... so actually, I'm a big fan of Hello Kitty anything-lah!). Then I found different box designs in Singapore's 7-elevens. Therefore, last Christmas we (my family and I) were at Singapore and there was a long queue at a particular 7-eleven because Mei Li (yes, me) was going crazy stacking up boxes of Hello Kitty mints on the counter!!! Here's a sneak preview of one of the boxes I got....

Christmas edition ok! Dun pway pway.

The past few boxes that I got had round tiny mints w
hich a lot of people asked me what was the point of paying extra for a box of Hello Kitty mints when you can just buy say..Smints? Like hello!!! These people dun understand is it? You're paying for Hello Kitty material ok! Damn insulted lor... Do you see me running around asking people why they are buying Prada when you can just buy Padini? No right!!!

Ok, so back to this Christmas edition box of mints... the mints are in the form of Hello Kitty's face ok!!! Super excited that I had to take a picture in the middle of a boutique. This is the best picture so far because either Kelly's hand was shaking terribly or I have Parkinson's disease myself.... So for all of you out there thinking w
hat a waste of money, this box is like super value can? Got Hello Kitty on the box as well as the mints itself.....

Had to force Kelly to also take a photo with the box of mints. Since she agreed at the end, I feel a deep gratitude to post her photo here in hope that she'll end up as a Hello Kitty model in future.... I mean, she already loves the colour pink for starters... I'm sure she'd go a longgggg way!! *_*

Like a 'stupid pie' right? Ya, I thought so too.

P/s: Kelly, we still love you no matter what *hugs*

Sunway Pyramid 2

Last Friday we decided to take a trip to Sunway Pyramid because I haven't been there since the opening of the new wing - and also because Pei Chyi & I needed to shop for a blouse for Grace's wedding (totally irrelevant information but whatever!!!).

Anyways, Sunway Pyramid plus the new wing is massive! It's like a maze in there!! Even if you were to go to the toilet, you'd have 2-3 corridors to explore before you find it! Speaking of toilets, Josie and I started taking pictures.... how did it start? Let me 'story' you.... as Josie was drying her hands with toilet paper, she saw this hand dryer which she was fascinated with. And I was like "eh, they have that in Singapore-lah!". And of course, she stuck her hand in between the hand dryer and was like "oooooo... nice!". Once again, I went "it's all over Singapore-lah!". So as we were on our way out of the toilet, Josie's like "hey, should I take a picture with the hand dryer?" (ok, everyone.. pls hold the rolling of eyes first... wait til you hear my part). Yup, so I took a photo of Josie.......

and the hand dryer........
**Gosh, and to think she's a Producer for the Singapore market... *_*

My turn now to take a photo. We've just visited "LIES"!!! I'm guessing "Huh?" would be your expression now?

Some alphabets were missing from the word "Ladies"... and to think that this place was soooo new! No no, better yet.... and to think that people would be civilised enough to not steal alphabets from a toilet? Wtf right? I mean, if you were to set up a brand new company called - just the top of my head here - "Ah Dong & Sons", would you go round stealing alphabets of different sizes & fonts just to 'publish' your company name at your office? Ok, maybe the alphabets did drop on their own (cos so many toilets at the new wing, expensive-la if wanna buy atas-atas glue all) but where did the alphabets end up at? Ah Dong, if you're reading this post, kindly return the alphabets.... kakakakakaka

New Year's Resolutions

What's the story here? It seems that almost everyone that wishes me "Happy New Year" will fire the next question of "wat's ur new year's resolution ha??". Where or more appropriately WHEN did people start this 'ritual' to have new year's resolutions? It's as though on the 31st of December each year I would tell myself "tomoro... yes... tomoro I must change this habit of mine... or tomoro I must be a better person so today... today I shall just bite my nails/be selfish/throw rubbish out of the car window etc. for the last time". So the next day when we wake up and start our little 'mission', do we measure the 'return' when we reach 31st of December again? What constitutes a good benchmark/measurement of whether we have achieved our initial resolution? Is there a freaking training out there that we can attend to teach us how? Cos most people would just 'recycle' their resolutions and you hear them over and over again....like kill me pls?
P/s: Nav - I'm helping you to topic generate here.... *_*

My point is that is it really necessary to wait until the end of each year to really make a resolution & implement it on the 1st of Jan? Y can't people go around asking "so... what's ur March resolution?"? And I'd reply "Nope, don't have one... I'm waiting til' the end of the year". muahahahaha. Ok fine, all I'm saying is that we can improve ourselves whenever we want, save the earth from global warming NOW (I'm super motivated to do this after watching Al Gore's global warming dvd entitled "An Inconvenienet Truth"... but dunno how.. yet) or start charity very right this instance.

So for every one of you my dear friends, that tell me your new year's resolutions would be spending more time with family, getting a more toned body, be less of a bitch/bastard... I say crap-lah! Be yourselves and be happy with who you are/what you have because although our superficial & materialistic world does exacerbate your life, I do believe that each and every one of you are individually special & I love you guys!!! (damn emo now can?)

Happy 2008 ppl! *eyes rolling*

Blacked OUT

Am feeling rather sleepy today (and no, for all those who know me, stop rolling your eyes as tho' it's nothing new). I have a perfectly good reason as to why. At 2am this morning, my whole house blacked out! It was as tho' Stitch (in a form of soft toy+speakers which I bought for dunno what use) took over the planet and wiped out electricity from earth to support his flying vehicle or whatever shit.

Anyways, I woke up cos of the heat... opened the drawer beside my bed to look for my hello kitty portable fan and batteries to go with it. Once I found the fan & 2 of my looney tunes AA size batteries, guess what? The fan wouldn't start. WTF! But don't fret, I have a spare fan which I purchased on my happy trip to Hong Kong Disneyland!!!! Unfortunately, it couldn't work as well so I'm guessing the batteries were dead! F***!

Feeling helpless & moody, I walked in the dark to another drawer of mine looking for my Pucca fan (the plastic kind which you have to use energy to fan yourself). Great news! Found it. Went back to bed and started keeping myself alive from all the heat for a bit. The only motivation I got from fanning was that I'd proli end up with more toned arms in the morning - ya... right....!

Finally at 3am, freaking electricity came on again. Thank GOD! I really don't know how ppl lived without it in the past... well, hopefully it's here to stay because if one day, we're all back to square one again... the only motivation I would get from all that is to hopefully meet a real Stitch in person!!!
